Fossil fuels are hydrocarbon deposits that are burned for fuel.

Fossil fuels play an important role in:

  • Food Production
  • Heating (in some communities)
  • Manufacturing
  • Plastics
  • Shipping
  • and Transportation

These include oil, coal or natural gas. These deposits have all been accumulating over a long period of time, at least a few million years.

Since it takes so much time to form, fossil fuels are a finite resource and are not good for the long term since they will eventually run out.

In order to build a sustainable economy, and a sustainable future, we need to invest in alternative energy.
